East Coast Black-Tie Estate Wedding with an Editorial Edge

LUKE & LAUREN

KING MANSION, HARRISBURG PA

SHOT ON FILM AND DIGITAL

There is something undeniably magical about a December wedding near Christmas – a subtle ambiance evident in the overall feel of the day. This historic mansion wedding in Harrisburg, PA embodied everything we love about winter celebrations: timeless architecture, black-tie elegance, and a deeply emotional atmosphere captured through both film photography and digital imagery.

Set against the backdrop of King Mansion on the East Coast, Luke and Lauren’s wedding felt cinematic from the very beginning. The estate’s stately columns, warm wood-paneled interiors, and grand staircases created a beautifully charged environment. With an early December sunset, we got to be creative with portraits and chose to lean into direct flash for a vast majority of the photos with the bride and groom. For the indoor portraits, the glow of interior lighting created a depth and moodiness that translated beautifully on film.

As a New York and Philly based photographer specializing in both documentary and editorial styles, my approach is rooted in authenticity and artistry. Every wedding day is documented with care – capturing both the quiet in-between moments and the striking, editorial portraits that define the aesthetic of the celebration. Documentary wedding photography allows moments to breathe – to happen organically without interruption. At the same time, weaving in editorial-inspired portraits ensures the gallery feels refined and intentional. Both approaches are evident in this wedding gallery.

As you scroll, I hope you see the magic of both in action.
